The Buddhist Association is prominent among the main organizations of Vidyalankara College. Under the supervision of the Honorable Principal, the membership of this association, which was established under the guidance of the honorable teachers of the college, is given to class leaders and leaders of the Buddha Dharma subject.

The main objective of this organization is to organize religious activities by building a Buddhist environment in the college.

Accordingly, Buddha Puja is performed daily in the Buddha Mandiya of our college, where there is a bud of Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi, and flower lamp pooja is performed for the idols in the morning in all the classrooms without fail.

Organized Sarvaratrika Pirith Sermon, Gilanpasa Pooja, Satadhika Sangagata Dakshina, Pahan Pooja, etc., organized for the annual anniversary of the college, distribution of educational equipments for children with economic difficulties, donation of abhaya dana pinkam etc. Makes charitable contributions to the community.

During the monthly pre-poya day, morning milk food offering, Ashtapana offering is offered to the Bodhi Temple and Vihara Mandir after visiting the school through a scenic procession in a way that everyone in the school joins in. Later, a meditation program and a sermon, Sanghika charity will be done and prayers will be offered to God and all the deceased in the name of the college community.

During Vesak week
Abhaya organizes charity worship and flower dansals, Dhamma scripture puja, kirikopi dansals and displays Vesak lanterns in the school. They also organize fruit offerings to the Kiribathgoda hospital, cleaning of nearby temples and charity offerings. All academics and non-academics of the school go to the nearby temples on the day before Vesak Po and perform Ashtanga Samannagata Uposatha Seelaya samadan, seela, meditation etc. and work for spiritual development.

It has become a tradition of the college to preach and bless the students when they appear for the main government exams and various competitive events.

Also, commemorating the Vidyalankara Day, a procession from the school to Pirivena and organizing the Dhatu Pooja is organized annually. In addition to this, we organize Pindapatha programs etc. at different times by remembering the merits of the three through the Amsa and the principle pujas.

According to the idea of the new principal, Dr. Kusala Fernando, our college also contributes to Katina Pinkama, which is done once a year. We took over the Katina of a temple located in a difficult rural environment and our organization worked to help the villagers in such a way that the defects of the village as well as the temple could be found. In Polonnaruwa in 2022 and in Gampola temple in 2023, we have performed kathina pinkam.
